TOWER BRIDGE: LEGO'S MASTERPIECE (#10214)
This model has to be Lego's magnum opus. It's a masterpiece of design and construction, with all the usual charm -- and over 4000 pieces! Some designer(s) should have won a prize for this one. It's awesome. It will be a tough act to follow.
We had been admiring Tower Bridge for many months, but thinking we would never do anything THAT big or that expensive. But then again, Christmas was coming and we had been good boys and girls, hadn't we?
Secretly, we had always sort of envisioned it when we started making that City extension down the wall. It was only a matter of time. How could you have a "London" with a Big Ben and no Tower Bridge? It was inevitable. Another expansion ensued. This one was a little easier.

Adding Tower Bridge section changed the overall Hobby Wall, as shown below.
Above was our final configuration - until the Palace Cinema arrived. And the trains. The resulting layout is shown below.
UPDATE, JULY 2014. The unbalanced shelf on Tower Bridge has been corrected. The whole section has now received a border and box enclosure, like the "country" section. The cabinet below now has a pegboard box installed, for additional models.
The above photo also appears at bottom of Display page, which tells how all this was constructed.
