MOC: PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
Jane Austen's Country Estates
Sanddoodle's plan is to recreate scenes representing the four English country estates from Jane Austen's novel, "Pride and Prejudice," as seen in the BBC miniseries version.
These are: Longbourn, Netherfield, Rosings Park, and of course Pemberley, the vast estate of Mr. Darcy. They are modeled after the English sites used in the BBC series. So far I have completed Longbourn, home of Elizabeth Bennett and her family. Below is my third edition of Longbourn. There will be a fourth.

The scene above represents the arrival of the errant Lydia Bennett with her new husband, Mr. Wickham. The closed carriage (shown below) and Wickham's Regimental uniform were, well, pirated from a Lego "Pirates of the Caribbean" kit. The "Pirates" kit also provided horses, an extra wagon, some mini-figs, and a building which I disassembled for parts.
Netherfield and Longbourn will be full scale buildings; that is, partial facades like the above with open backs. Pemberley and Rosings are planned as mini-scale buildings, with other landscaping, horse carriages and mini-figs.
I am currently collecting horses, carriages, and minifigs, and amassing more bricks (a LOT of bricks) for Netherfield, Mr. Bingley's country home. Some carriages and horses, plus mini-figs and some very useful hats, came from two relatively inexpensive Lego "Lone Ranger" sets. (I now have quite a number of Johnny Depp mini-figs as a result.)
In my quest for horses, white dresses, and princess hair, I also bought several boxes of "My First Lego Princess" (Lego kit # 10656). The latter gave me a Kitty and Mary for Longbourn, below, plus two more horses.

To get white dresses for the women and top hats for Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley, I bought two Lego wedding favor kits, which also provided a lot of flowers. The wedding favor kits gave me an unexpected bonus: an assortment of different color wigs in the up-do hairstyles that I need for all these women!
I looked everywhere for BONNETS for all these 19th century women. Lego has hundreds of men's hats and specialty headgear, but no dang BONNETS. I had to cut up and use plastic caps from E-cigarette cartridges for the ladies' bonnets. I consider this a "legal" alternative since there is no molded Lego element that fits the bill.
I have recently decided to re-do this model with a different type of windows. So the above constitutes my third draft only.
And I am still designing and working out the other three "country estates" that will comprise my permanent final set of four buildings.
